How does the work hours calculator handle overnight shifts?
If a shift ends earlier than it starts, we treat clock-out as the following day. For example, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM is eight hours before breaks. Shifts of exactly 24 hours are not supported in this simple version.
Does HourVello automatically calculate overtime?
Yes, it estimates weekly overtime based on the threshold and multiplier you select. It is not a legal payroll determination; some states require daily overtime or different treatment for particular workers.
How are lunch breaks deducted?
Enter the number of unpaid break minutes for a day. That amount is subtracted from the shift duration. Paid breaks should not be deducted.
Is this tool free and private?
Yes. The calculator runs in your browser and does not require an account. On this version, timesheet inputs are saved locally in your browser so you can return to them later.
